What a wonderful secret to get to keep when a client asks for an engagement session that is actually a secret wedding weekend! The weather didn’t cooperate on day one so I was able to photograph Bethany + Billy after their actual wedding on an absolutely perfect New Orleans day.

We got engaged in early October 2013.  We put off any serious wedding planning to get through the busy holiday season. When life settled down in mid-January we began to theorize a small wedding of just 60 guests but immediately became overwhelmed with the money and time it would take.  We already had our tickets to New Orleans bought and paid for six months before this for a long-awaited vacation and so did Billy’s parents.  We talked my parents into flying down.  Billy’s sister, very good friend, and his new girlfriend also flew in from California for the occasion.  Basically, our elopement turned into a “Destination Wedding”.  New Orleans is one of my favorite places I have ever visited and neither Billy nor I had been since the hurricane.
There are definitely a few other people I would have liked to have been there with us but a court house ceremony, a fantastically fun photo session, and a nice dinner was all we really needed.  It was an incredibly easy-going and romantic “destination wedding”. – Bethany
